In the frame of the cultural program “Europe Grand Central” and in collaboration with “Eleusis 2021” a unique encounter took place at the Special Vocational High School of Eleusina.
“Workshop Green Planet”: a visual arts workshop
Adi Atassi a Syrian visual artist and Khaldoon Daoud a Jordan visual artist were invited to workshop and create together with the children. From this workshop, the outcome was a piece of art on borders titled: ”Green planet” that was created by the two artists in collaboration with the children.

On a white canvas that was split with “borders” marked with a tape beforehand, the artists invited the children to color a colorful borderless world. Then, the tapes were removed revealing borders anew. The two artists reworked the painting of the children.

Audience

Children with special skills. Giving colours and choise to a highly underprivileged societal group and guiding juvenile delinquents and adolescents with mental disorders ranging from autism to schizophrenia. These workshops gives the chance to work with adolescents in a special vocational high school in Eleusina, a school where children with special skills stand a chance of higher education.

    This sounds great and important!

    I get curious more also of the specifics. Why is this important in this setting at this time? For whom, and wha is the situation today as regards to individual differences (what types of differences) and what could it mean to make joint pieces of art? What is the idea of the change that this intervention could make?Reference
