So the first meetings with mothers this time included showing some of the photos of the Barcelona edition and sharing the video with them, at least with the ones who wanted to take part. I ask for their permission to take notes of what they tell me or record their voices just as a reminder of what to ask on our next meet up which will be filmed for documentation purposes and/or to use in the film.
I say this time, because for the Barcelona edition of Home is Where Mom is, it was the first edition and it was all in my head without necessarily visual references that I could share with the mothers. Plus the mothers happened to all be females which is not exactly the same for Gozo. Although the concept hasn't changed and in both editions it is about the mother figure that brings people or family members together and help them achieve their dreams and celebrate that with them whilst postponing theirs.
Questions to each mother are of course stemmed from what they tell me but they also cover certain aspects I like to highlight about their dreams and whether or not they were achieved and what home means to them.
Production also includes an ongoing research of the mothers as well as the physical place which was Gharb/Gozo for the first three.
Add to that the actual filming of the journey with them as well the photography of the dream with the mothers that is completely designed and engineered by the mothers and I follow.
