Consumerism, fast fashion and social harm
My research aims to draw attention to the consequences of activities that are deemed"normal" in contemporary society.
I am a researcher working at the Institute of Criminology at the Law Faculty in Ljubljana, Slovenia, currently pursuing a PhD in Criminology.
Ljubljana, Slovenia
My background is in Law and International Development Studies. I am interested in questions concerning sustainability, equity and social justice. My current research addresses consumerism from a criminological point of view and takes a closer look at the phenomenon of fast fashion, as an example of social harm resulting from consumerism. I am particularly interested in the concept of social harm, which encompasses a number of negative events, inequalities and injustices that are marginalized in criminology, labelled less severe and are, consequently, in the context of contemporary socio-economic conditions, accepted as normal by the general public.
