To renew my driver´s license, I need to get approval from the Intelligence Department. People with Jordanian citizenship don’t need this security clearance. One time when I was getting it renewed, I was called in for interrogation from the Intelligence Department… even though I have a clear record. Also, a driver’s license for a non-citizen cost 114 Jordanian Dinars, citizens pays 30. And we are only allowed to own sedan cars. It is impossible for us to register pickups, trucks or buses.
