When I came to Italy, I first started to speak English with people in restaurants, bars, hostels, train station ect. then I met poeple who do not speak English at all, so I was trying to communicate with them. Because I speak Spanish, so uderstanding Italian was easy but then responding was difficult. I started to use Spanish words in Italian accent and it worked. Then I have learned e few words and the basic conjugation of verbs and the was easier to communicate.
