A story from Home is Where Mom is-Gozo/Malta

3 Mothers and a Priest but the Nurse's Story First or Somewhere in Between

So, I take living very seriously, and by that I refer to my daily run. I managed to accept a route for 20 minutes of running, don't get me wrong, it had to accept me too. I started running second day I came here, first thing I did was to go around the village and scout the place, the church, the football club but I didn't find the band club. On October 1st I tripped on an asphalt appendix of 5 or so cm above the ground. I had been tired as it was closer to my residence and I hadn't seen that small being obstructing my almost numb foot. So I tripped over it and almost flew on my knees, elbows and chest. Quite bruised and wounded I was helped in by the house owner (who is a Maltese artist) and his wife. They gave me the first aid kit and some ice and all was under control.

I had meetings today with three mothers and the village priest set up by the local council, I met 2 mothers; Miriam and Rita in the local council itself and the third-Liza was at her house and the priest at the parish office.

Back to my wounds, I felt the wounds were not healing properly so I went to the pharmacy before meeting the third mother. Waiting outside the pharmacy, it was 3:58, 2 more minutes to open after the afternoon siesta. At 4:00 sharp, I showed the pharmacist my wounds and described what had happened. Between recommending this medication and that antiseptic, a nurse was standing there and told me what to do exactly. Rita was her name. My guardian angel. She gave me some extra swabs she had in her car and told me there was no need to buy any more. I started talking with her and in my excitement I asked her right away after explaining what I do a bit and whether or not she would like to be part of "Home is Where Mom is". She said yes. Sometimes it takes one to fall and be badly wounded to find a mother. I took Rita's number, saved it as Rita Nurse on my mobile and asked when she could speak on the phone and we arranged the time to do so.

I went home happy and looking forward to meet Liza then the priest who promised to introduce me to two mothers after I explained to him what I'm doing.

A productive day in many ways. Liza, Rita Nurse and Miriam are interested to take part.
