Crossing the border via the airport customs lines after landing was (a little too) easy. I was in a daze after a long flight from my home in the USA and just walked through the customs area without being interviewed, out to see my friends waiting for me. I thought it was weird that no one stamped by passport, but I didn't think much of it until my friends and I were stopped at a regional checkpoint by armed guards who accused my friends of smuggling me into the country illegally for work. Luckily, the American friend I was visiting had an Ivorian boyfriend who charmed the officers inspecting our bus. We weren't detained, but I was pretty rattled!
