A story from Consumerism, fast fashion and social harm

By employing the social harm concept, I would like to draw attention to the gravity of the consequences of consumerism, a practice perceived as normal in the context of contemporary socioeconomic conditions. Perceiving activities as normal often makes us forget to consider the negative externalities they produce. One example is the fast fashion phenomenon, i.e., the production of “fashionable” clothing on a massive scale with short production and distribution times. Consumers often forget about the harm that has been inflicted to workers and the environment in the production process of "cheap" clothes.
